Frequent Questions

What is the Lucentia's method?

Is the method dedicated to creating the analytical support that your business needs. We use strategic planning as one of the pillars that guide the development of customized business intelligence systems. And if your business strategy is not yet clearly defined, no problem, we are able to apply our modeling techniques to design it and enable its monitoring, establishing the appropriate KPIs.

What is the strategic planification?

This concept refers to the determination of the objectives of the organization and how it intends to achieve them. The vision, mission and values of the company are part of its strategic planning, and it is what makes it different from other companies that are dedicated to the same activity.

What is Business Intelligence?

Business intelligence is a methodology that aims to improve the efficiency of the company, for which it focuses on knowing at all times the performance of different areas and processes of the company, which makes it different from the rest of companies in the same sectors.

What is blockchain?

It is a technology that is based on consensus rather than a third one verification. In other words, if normally to verify that a data is correct, what we do is ask to a third one that is accredited to ensure it. With blockchain, what we do is ask several entities, and if all have registered the data as correct, your verdict is accepted. In an easy way, there is no accredited intermediary, there is a group of “experts” who respond at the same time. The point about this technology is that it means a radical change in the operation of commercial, financial, educational entities, etc.

What strategic planning mistakes can Lucentia help me correct?

Mainly, this is the establishment of unattable goals. Also, the badly implementation of the strategy or the lack of an adequate information system monitoring.

To correct this, the company needs to ask itself:

Is there a clear list of strategic objectives? and what about a specification of how to achieve them?

Do you know at all times the status of each and every one of your strategic objectives?

Is the information accessible to those responsible for each objective and process?

What is Big data?

Big data refers to the existence of huge volumes of data that meet a series of characteristics, also known as the five “Vs”:

Volume. Large volume of data that can be exploited.

Variety. Great diversity and number of available data sources, internal and external to the company, especially due to the rise of the Internet of things.

Velocity. Great pace of data generation

Veracity. Big uncertainty regarding the quality of the available data, precisely due to their profusion.

Value. Usefulness of data for decision-making in the organization.

What benefit can the use of Big data represent for my company?

Big Data represents the opportunity to integrate previously innaccesible information in order to obtain a better vision of the business and customers: it allows the use of new data sources, both internal to the company that until now was not feasible to process, and external to it that, until now, it was difficult for us to use and analyze.

What are the KPIs?

They are key performance indicators (KPI) of a system or process and serve to understand the meaning of the data.

Depending on the origin of the data sources, in Big data, we can differentiate between:

Internal KPIs. For example, To find out which products are more successful in a company. The indicator “Breakdown of company sales” would be analyzed.

And external KPIs. For example, to find out what our clients think of us, we would use indicators from sentiment analysis in comments on social networks.

At Lucentia Lab, we help you define the two types of KPIs, in order to perform a better analysis of the data about the company.

What is Internet of things?

Those “things” are all devices or elements that can be connected to the internet to emit or receive information. Right now it’s about cars, refrigerators, cell phones, alarms, traffic lights..etc.

The concept was born when the internet goes from being a space in which thousands of computers exchange information, to being a space in which millions of things exchange information.

Usually this term is found as IoT for its acronym in Engligh: Internet of things.

Most importantly, all these “things” emit data constantly, in such a quantity and at such a speed that collecting and analyzing it has become a big problem. To solve it, the concept of Big data appears.

At Lucentia Lab we help you define the two types of KPIs, in order to perform a better analysis of the data about the company.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

This term refers to computer systems that mimic human intelligence in their operation. These systems solve questions in a similar way to how a human brain would and for this they are “trained” in such a way that, after telling them many times what the solution to a problem is, they are able to solve them without human help at the end of the training, or ask for help if they are not able.

AI is especially important to unleash the full potential of Big data in the age of the Internet of Things.
